How to Build a Basic Metavision Augmented Reality Apps.

This learning aims to find out the specifications of devices suitable for metavision development.

How to dev

  1. Download & Install Unity version 5.6.0f3 or 2017.3.0f3 https://unity3d.com/get-unity/download/archive

Minimum recommended PC specifications from Metavision

  • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-6700 Processor or AMD AMD FX™ 9590, equivalent or better
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM DDR4 or more
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 480, equivalent or better (AMD only supported in extended mode, not direct mode)
  • Video Output: 1x HDMI 1.4b port
  • USB: 1x USB 3.0 ports or higher
  • 3D Engine: Unity 5.6 or higher (using Unity C# SDK) and Unity 2017.2

Test result

  • The diagnostic sample test is green which indicates the device qualifies for further testing.
  • Testing using a Core i5 laptop is a laptop experiencing a slow rendering process with the display screen experiencing a delay.
  • Testing using the Core i7 Laptop is a screen display can that run but only a few seconds and displays an error message.
  • The Build & Run / Stop process in Unity using a Core i7 Laptop device takes a long time with the CPU Task Manager checking at 100%.

Recomendation

  • Metavision development uses an assembly of computers that are above the specifications recommended by Metavision.
  • The monitor screen supports  Resolution 2560 x 1440.
